The Central Alberta Women's Emergency Shelter (CAWES) are currently recruiting individuals to join our volunteer Board of Directors.
If you are community minded and have 10 hours per month to volunteer your expertise to a compassionate cause, we would like to hear from you!
The Central Alberta Women's Emergency Shelter (CAWES) Board of Directors is a policy and governance board. The Board of Directors works collaboratively with the Executive Director to establish the strategic priorities for CAWES.
What you can expect:
- A three-year term with an opportunity for one second term re-election
- Approximately 8 meetings per year and a 2-day board planning and strategy session
- Standing committee commitments
- Community ambassador advocacy
Central Alberta Women's Emergency Shelter (CAWES) offers safe refuge, personal counselling, and community support for families experiencing family violence. Every year, we meet nearly 3,000 people who have made the brave step towards a life free from violence. There are thousands more in our community who still need our help.
