Rayann Toner appointed Executive Director, Central Alberta Women's Emergency Shelter
The Board of Directors of the Central Alberta Women’s Emergency Shelter (CAWES) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rayann Toner as the organization’s new Executive Director.
Rayann brings with her over 13 years of substantial knowledge and experience working in the field of social justice and intimate partner violence. In 2005, Rayann joined CAWES in the role of Child Support Worker and continued by taking on leadership role in various aspects of Operations and the Domestic Violence Court Program over the 10 years that she has been employed with the agency. Originally from Trenton, Nova Scotia, she was the Executive Director of the Pictou County Centre for Sexual Health from 2010 – 2014.
Rayann will play a key role in meeting the organization’s outstanding reputation for service and delivery to clients and its peers by working closely with collaborative partners locally and provincially through the Alberta Council of Women Shelters. Toner has also co- represented CAWES both at national and international conferences for women shelters, in Ottawa and Den Hague, the Netherlands.
